The principal is responsible for determining the volunteering needs for the school and overseeing the selection process. Volunteers will be asked to provide references and also required to provide an acceptable criminal background check before being approved. To volunteer at our school please review the required steps below.
Steps required for new volunteers:
- All volunteer applicants must provide the school or volunteer program contact with Procedure 498 Form 1: Volunteer Application (pdf)
- All volunteer applicants must provide the school or volunteer program contact with a police record check that:
- is dated within one year
- identifies any criminal convictions or criminal charges
- includes a search of the Pardoned Sexual Offences Database, and a Vulnerable Sector Search.
Steps required for existing volunteers:
- All volunteer applicants must provide the school or volunteer program contact with Procedure 498 Form 3: Offence Declaration (pdf) that:
- is dated within one year
- identifies any criminal convictions or criminal charges
- includes a search of the Pardoned Sexual Offences Database, and a Vulnerable Sector Search.
Steps required for volunteers to attend out of school learning excursions:
- All volunteer applicants must provide the school with Procedure 230 Form: Excursion: Volunteer Application (pdf)
- All volunteer applicants must provide the school or volunteer program contact with a Police Record Check that:
- is dated within one year
- identifies any criminal convictions or criminal charges
- includes a search of the Pardoned Sexual Offences Database, and a Vulnerable Sector Search.
- If the volunteer applicant has previously submitted a valid police record check, another is not required for three years, with an offence declaration signed each year.
